Stationary Armor Target - Medium

This SAT serves applications where good lifting capacity reserves are required for tough conditions. The intermediate target lifter is one of the most powerful medium sized lifters in the live-fire training market and due to its reduced weight it outrivals most competitive products. It is the low weight alternative to the heavy SAT and perfectly combines good handling with high performance. Due to reduced weight and dimensions and a stable protection frame the SAT allows flexible tank target scenarios on almost any training range.

The Medium SAT was developed for training ranges with fast changing armor scenarios and focuses on training of tanks, mechanized infantry and anti armor troops.

Features

General Features

The powerful and reliable integrated hydraulic system allows the light SAT to lift targets up to a size of 3 meters length and 2 meters height. Extendable outriggers and adjustable target brackets allow a design with relatively small space requirement and yet good stability. Electro gear, gear wheels and electronics are protected in a watertight cast aluminum housing for dependable and long life operation. Since all hydraulic components are placed in a waterproof housing, emission of hydraulic fluid is impossible even if the hydraulic system leaks.

  Realistic Training Environment

  Several add-ons and accessories are available for TTS target mechanisms to increase training realism and stress.
  

  Enemy fire simulators and hit indicators are added to the target appliances and are used to give a more realistic training environment. The simulators make use of standard pyrotechnic ammunition or are non -pyrotechnic simulators, increasing the safety of the range personnel while reducing the life cycle costs. As more and more modern weapon systems are equipped with infrared night visors, all our target appliances can be equipped with thermal target heating systems, which provide a thermal image on the target that can be clearly identified.

  This TTS Target appliance offers various movements and/or speeds to ensure diversified training scenarios and to avoid familiarization effects. For a highly flexible range layout on shooting ranges most TTS target equipment is designed in a way that its location can be altered without the need of infrastructure adaptations. If required our Equipment will be delivered meeting these requirements:

  All TTS Equipment can be delivered with a preinstalled LOMAH Interface to allow future upgrades to high precision hit evaluation and cutting edge training workflow.

  All TTS equiptment comes with adjustable piezo hit sensors to evaluate firing results, but today's state-of the-art technology employs automatic marking and scoring systems, mostly called LOMAH (Location Of Miss And Hit) Systems. Our own LOMAH System allows the correct detection/ location of a hit on the target and is  even able to detect the exact location of near misses without the need of special target material.  This results in a  highly efficient training workflow, and in combination with a TACF of a RCU an instand after action review. And this finally reduces requirements for ammuntion, consumables, time and money.

  Target illumination cannot only replace often prohibited pyrotechnical devices like illumination lights (varying lights), but can be used as a hit indicator also. Illumination lenses can be supplied in different colors.

  Most target mechanisms are supplied with a lightweight Target Controller.
  

  

  Target Controller

  The controller's housing is made from powder coated, high-grade aluminum. To avoid internal corrosion and to maintain a consistent and optimal performance under all environmental conditions, from equator to the poles, the housing is sealed with a premium sealant. The configurable settings are addressing the complexity of military training and allows a variety of custom operating settings:

  • Number of hits to drop the target
  • Display time, for which the target shall be shown
  • Delay time, after which the target will be raised again automatically
  • Sensitivity of hit sensor
  • Target illumination (optional)
  • Brightness of the illumination (optional)
  • Target heating system (optional)

  TTS Target equipment is supplied with a remotely adjustable Piezo Hit Indication.
  

  

  Piezzo Hit Indicator

  The dependable TTS Piezo Hit Indication has a reliability of hit recording better than 98% for almost all calibers. Hits are reported back to the controller. To obtain perfect results the sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted remotely by the controller. In the recordable range is live fire ammunition as well as paint ball ammunition.

  TTS uses only 100% scoop proof, hermetic connectors made from high strength aluminum shells and qualified to specifications MIL-DTL-38999, EN 3645 and JN 1034. The olive drab cadmium over nickel shell plating provides even salt spray corrosion protection. The threaded coupling with self-locking ensures anti-vibration integrity.

  To avoid heavy weight this part is made from high-grade cast aluminum and to make it wear resistant it is supported with stainless steel inlays. It's little weight allows swift movements, reinforcement prevents creep fatigue and powder coating ensures weather resistance.
