Stationary Infantry Target - Advanced

The flagship of our product range sets standards for the live-fire training industry. With its unique Target-Cube, this universal and ingenious target mechanism can carry out pop up, slashing, swiveling and turning actions. The Advanced SIT, with its well-dimensioned protection frame, its external configurable target controller, and its modifiable target mechanism offers a unique combination of flexibility, an excellent reliability, and a safe easy handling.

Designed for mobile use on all types of shooting ranges and in open range terrain, it does not require any groundwork. Once brought out on the range, it vigorously presents any infantry target silhouette.

Up to now more than 5000 units utilizing the Target-Cube have been sold and presently are in continuous production since 1996. Overall over 25 000 Theissen Infantry Target lifters have been delivered.

The Stationary Infantry Target - Advanced is also referred to as Small Arms Pop Up (SAPU) SIT, Infantry Lifter.

Features

General Features

The Target-Cube lets this Stationary Infantry Target Mechanism lift, slash or turn infantry target silhouettes precisely and vigorously. An external target controller (TC) ensures the communication to the range controller, whether it is the computerized control facility (TACF) or the TTS remote control unit (RCU). It can be conveniently carried by two men and hence repositioned to easily modify the training scenarios. The location can be altered without the need of infrastructure adaptations. No site preparation is necessary to place the SIT, provided that the mechanism is protected from direct hits and ricochets.

  Realistic Training Environment

  Several add-ons and accessories are available for TTS target mechanisms to increase training realism and stress.
  

  Enemy fire simulators and hit indicators are added to the target appliances and are used to give a more realistic training environment. The simulators make use of standard pyrotechnic ammunition or are non -pyrotechnic simulators, increasing the safety of the range personnel while reducing the life cycle costs. As more and more modern weapon systems are equipped with infrared night visors, all our target appliances can be equipped with thermal target heating systems, which provide a thermal image on the target that can be clearly identified.

  This TTS Target appliance offers various movements and/or speeds to ensure diversified training scenarios and to avoid familiarization effects. For a highly flexible range layout on shooting ranges most TTS target equipment is designed in a way that its location can be altered without the need of infrastructure adaptations. If required our Equipment will be delivered meeting these requirements:

  This conventional mode allows the presentation of a target raising out of a cover and lowering to hide behind a drawback.

  Friend & Foe Mode

  Alternative presentation of a friend or a foe target is possible.
  

  

  SIT Swiveling

  This mode allows the alternative presentation of a friend or a foe target; the targets' side view represents the neutral position since the target board appears to be invisible. Typical applications are pistol shooting and special forces training.

Ergonomical Features

In its protection frame the SIT can be conveniently carried and set by two persons. Designed avoiding sharp edges, it offers easy and safe handling to the service personnel. For transport and storage it can be safely stacked and stored.

  TTS products are delivered on well-dimensioned and steadfast frames.The frame design avoids sharp edges and is providing good handling and a maximum in safety matters. Products in a  frame are comfortably stackable during transport and storable with minimal space requirements. Four guide bars allow staking. Stainless steel used throughout the frame provides durability and resistance to tough climatic conditions and mistreatment. Materials and weld joints are matched to optimize the life of the frame's structure. Hardwearing powder coating finishes the frame and avoids irritating light reflections.

• Target Cube

  Target Cube

  The target mechanism`s basic component assures swift movements of targets.
  

  

  Theissen cube

  The Target Cube is lifting any infantry target silhouette precisely and vigorously to simulate a suddenly appearing and disappearing infantry target. It can be programmed to create lifting, slashing, turning or swiveling movements.
  

  The Target Cube’s world-patented 4 in 1-technology makes this product also economical. This principle avoids extra costs for storage of spare parts, which would be needed if separate devices for the four purposes would be used. Likewise, less training is required causing a significant reduction of maintenance costs.

  The Target Cube allows multiple target movements. It can be fixed with a stainless steel clamp in two different positions allowing the following moves:

  • Lifting (raising/lowering)
  • Shearing (shearing up/shearing down)
  • Slashing (swinging in/swinging out/neutral)
  • Turning or Swiveling (friend/foe/neutral)

  With an Add-On the Target Cube© can even be swiftly modified to allow a sliding target presentation.

  The Target Cube is also referred to as SAPU Würfel, Theissen-Cube.

  Target Controller

  The controller's housing is made from powder coated, high-grade aluminum. To avoid internal corrosion and to maintain a consistent and optimal performance under all environmental conditions, from equator to the poles, the housing is sealed with a premium sealant. The configurable settings are addressing the complexity of military training and allows a variety of custom operating settings:

  • Number of hits to drop the target
  • Display time, for which the target shall be shown
  • Delay time, after which the target will be raised again automatically
  • Sensitivity of hit sensor
  • Target illumination (optional)
  • Brightness of the illumination (optional)
  • Target heating system (optional)

  Infantry target mechanisms are supplied with this ruggedized target fastener.
  

  

  Target Fixture

  To avoid heavy weight this arm is made from high-grade cast alloy and to make it wear resistant it is supported with stainless steel inlays.

  The lightweight aluminum target fastener is stainless steel reinforced and powder coated. Little weight allows swift movements, reinforcement prevents creep fatigue and powder coating ensures weather resistance.
  

  The target fastener accepts most standard target silhouettes.

  Piezo Hit Indication

  TTS Target equipment is supplied with a remotely adjustable Piezo Hit Indication.
  

  

  Piezzo Hit Indicator

  The dependable TTS Piezo Hit Indication has a reliability of hit recording better than 98% for almost all calibers. Hits are reported back to the controller. To obtain perfect results the sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted remotely by the controller. In the recordable range is live fire ammunition as well as paint ball ammunition.

  TTS uses only 100% scoop proof, hermetic connectors made from high strength aluminum shells and qualified to specifications MIL-DTL-38999, EN 3645 and JN 1034. The olive drab cadmium over nickel shell plating provides even salt spray corrosion protection. The threaded coupling with self-locking ensures anti-vibration integrity.
